    "I’ve ridden at Thornridge Manor with Phoebe and Claudia since 2008, when I first brought my young warmblood to board. From the start, I was struck by the beautiful facility, the calm, supportive atmosphere, and the focused care every horse receives. Under Phoebe’s training, my gelding transformed from a difficult youngster into a forward, correct dressage horse who was a joy to ride. Over the past 17 years, I’ve watched countless horses and riders grow in confidence and skill—whether that means mastering a trail ride or riding a third-level test. My own dressage has improved immeasurably: stronger core, softer hands, steadier legs. In 2023, I earned my bronze medal on a combination of Phoebe’s horses and a friend’s, a true testament to the program here. But what I value most is the community.     "I've known Phoebe since 1999 when I brought my Holsteiner stallion to Thornridge Manor for full board training. I stopped riding for almost a decade to have a family but reconnected with Phoebe 5 years ago and she offered to lease me her amazing horse, Tomato! He was my heart horse from the start. A year after I started leasing T, I was diagnosed with cancer. Phoebe, Claudia, and the whole Thornridge family showed me so much love and support during that time. I do not think I would have gotten through it without them. I am now cancer-free and working on moving up to 3rd level! Thornridge is a family and the whole team works so hard to support each other and lift each other up.     I found myself riding with Phoebe on the suggestion of a friend. My longtime dressage instructor had long moved away, and I had a talented young horse, and was in need of quality instruction. Immediately Phoebe made me feel at ease. Her teaching style is excellent and she manages to push her students while not eroding their confidence. Every lesson I come away with feeling like I have learned something, or improved something, and with myself and my horse having more confidence than we started the ride with. She knows when, and how much to push, and when to back off. Her lessons are also great fun, and there is a lot of laughter. Her facility is top notch, and it is like a zen garden for horses. There truly is “good juju” at Thornridge! I am an event rider (sometimes dressage queen) who ships in for lessons. I never feel as though I am treated less than her boarders or straight dressage students. The results speak for themselves, as we are frequently in first place after the dressage phase. I feel lucky to have landed with such a wonderful instructor!
